Customizing Chatrooms With Themes

One of the nice things about Voidchat is that you don't have to stare at the same boring interface all the time. Rooms can switch between different themes, and everyone in the room sees the change. It's a simple way to make each chat space feel a little different.

To change a theme in a room, type /theme <theme_name>

For example /theme light

That sets the room to the “light” theme for everyone. If you're not sure what's available, use /theme list

And if you want to go back to the default /theme reset

Since themes are applied at the room level, they override whatever a user might have picked for themselves. It's like setting the mood lighting in a shared space — once it's on, everyone sees it the same way.

It's a small feature, but it adds a lot of character. A casual chat can feel different in “light” versus “dark,” and sometimes switching it up is all it takes to refresh the vibe.

Looking Ahead

Themes in Voidchat today are fixed, but the plan is to roll out a theme editor in the future. That will let anyone design their own themes — colors, fonts, backgrounds, maybe even animations — and share them with the community. Imagine rooms reflecting your personal style or a whole collection of user-made themes that bring personality to each chat.
