Void Chat is a free, anonymous chat platform where you can connect instantly and chat without the need for profiles, sign-ups, or any personal info. Please read the rules before posting.

Create Chat Room

To create or join a room, simply type in the name you want. If the room already exists, you'll join it, otherwise a new one will be made for you. If no name is given, a room with a random ID will be created.


Room names can include lowercase letters (a to z), numbers and dashes. Just keep it to a maximum of 32 characters!

General Rules

These rules apply across all chat rooms and MUST be followed by everyone.


  1. No Illegal Content

    Do not upload, post, discuss, request or link to anything illegal under US or EU law. This includes:

    1. Child sexual abuse material in any form (including real, fictional, and any sexualized depictions of minors)
    2. Serious, credible threats of violence
    3. Doxing with the intent to harass or endanger individuals
    4. Animal cruelty or abuse

  2. No Spamming

    Don't spam or flood the chat

  3. No NSFW Media

    Do not post pornographic or gore content

About Void Chat

Image Uploads and Media Sharing

Image attachments are currently uploaded to imgbb. Embedding images from other hosts such as Imgur, Reddit, Discord, Tenor or Giphy is possible, as long as a direct image link is used.

Private Messages

Void Chat is built for open, public group chats, meaning there are no private messages or DM-s. If you want to chat 1 on 1, just create a room and send the link to someone.

Privacy & Security

Unlike other platforms that are pretty much walled gardens (Discord, Revolt, Matrix), chat rooms on Voidchat are public and messages are visible to search engines. While you can talk to strangers anonymously and freely, keep in mind that anything you share may be accessible to the public. Always consider your privacy and the information you choose to disclose.

Random Chat

Random chat on Void Chat is in closed beta. If you're looking for Omegle alternatives to chat with strangers in the meantime, there are plenty of options out there like Emerald Chat, Chitchat.gg, Monkey.app and Thnudr.tv.
